AUF to offer degree in Chinese language teaching
Angeles University Foundation will offer Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Chinese Language Teaching starting June 2010, it was announced by AUF president Atty. Joseph Emmanuel L. Angeles.
As one of the major projects of the Confucius Institute at AUF (CI-AUF), the program aims to graduate highly competent Chinese language teachers to meet the demand for Chinese language instruction both here and abroad. Quality instruction is ensured by a faculty roster composed of Chinese teachers from Fujian Normal University possessing graduate degrees and rich professional experience. Fujian Normal University is AUF’s partner institution and one of China’s most prestigious teaching universities.The program also requires students to spend one year of study in China as Confucius Institute Scholars at the Fujian Normal University.
The first batch of scholars are scheduled to leave in September 2010 to undergo a year of immersion in Chinese culture and life. The delegation is composed of Fatima S. Bagang, Joanna Pauline Cadiang, Joerem Cuenco, Bianca Mariz Espiritu, Amanda Niccola Nepomuceno, Cavin Pamintuan, Krisselle Ramos and Patricia Ann Umali. ***
