Angeles City- Angeles University Foundation and SM City Clark successfully staged the Search for the Reyna Ning Flores de Mayo 2009 at the SM City Clark Event Centre last May 23 with special guests, SM Investments Corp. vice president Tessie Sy-Coson, SM Super Malls president Annie S. Garcia and CHED chairman Emmanuel Y. Angeles

“This year’s pageant was certainly better than last year’s because of the designers’ participation and the sagalas’ cooperation.We are very thankful of the generosity of SM City Clark in supporting AUF’s efforts geared towards cultural revival. This is our way of preserving, promoting and paying tribute to Kapampangan beauty and ingenuity”, says AUF president Ricardo P. Pama.

A total of 26 young ladies from the different towns and cities of Pampanga competed wearing original creations of local designers. Considered as the province’s grandest Flores de Mayo competition, the event was for the benefit of charity patients at the AUF Medical Center and AUF scholars.

The winning sagalas received: P 30,000 - grand winner; P 25,000 - 1st runner-up; P 20,000 – 2nd runner-up; P 15,000 – 3rd runner-up: P 10,000 – 4th runner-up. Big cash awards were also given away to the designers of the Best Filipino Gown and Best Arch.

The AUF Performing Arts staged a repertoire of Kapampangan and Tagalog classics through song and dance.
