Hair removal is one of the most popular beauty treatments in salons nowadays. Although it is not considered to be a ‘pampering’ nor ‘relaxing’ treatment, it does dramatically improve how you look and feel about yourself. While some people choose to embrace the hairier parts of their bodies, others find this an unattractive attribute. Whether it’s on the face, arms, legs or nether regions, many choose to get the hair removed from their bodies.
Over the past decade or so, there have been many hair removal options that have come out – giving men and women endless options for how they want to remove the unwanted hair from their body. For some, this is a huge advantage, as certain options are suited to certain people – for example: someone who wanted their legs waxed, but without using any chemicals, can now make their own sugar wax (which is completely natural).
In this website, we will discuss the different options available to you for removing unwanted hair. Each of these hair removal options have their own advantages and disadvantages, and it’s up to you to choose which option is best suit to your lifestyle. You may also find that your hair type may limit you to what option you choose – for example: some people with fine, light coloured hair may find that laser hair removal isn’t overly effective one them.
What hair removal options are there?
To date, there are several different hair removal options available, both through do it yourself practices and through professional beauty therapists. Remember that everyone has different types of body hair, and it would be wise to choose a hair removal method best suited to your hair type. The most effective and popular hair removal methods are:
Waxing hair removal
Laser hair removal
Laser hair removal is another effective way to get rid of body hair. Common in removing hair from the underarms, face and bikini region, laser hair removal is done through several treatments. Read more about laser hair removal here.
Electrolysis hair removal
Using a very fine needle shaped electrode, electrolysis effectively removes unwanted hair. This is another permanent hair removal option that is becoming increasingly popular around the world. Read more about electrolysis hair removal here.
There are a few other hair removal options, but these do not come highly recommended:
While shaving is a quick, easy and effective way to remove unwanted hair, it is not good short or long term. Shaving is most popular because of how instant the effects are – however – the disadvantages seem to outweigh the benefits. Shaving causes the hair to grow back thicker, darker and faster. So once you start shaving, you’re committed to continuing it unless you like showing off stubby black prickly legs!
Hair removal cream
Similar to shaving, using hair removal cream provides an instant way to get rid of unwanted hair. It does though, have the same disadvantages as shaving, where the hair grows back thicker, faster and longer.
